Mafuko was the name of a very popular and successful Ranger who died from illness. This Mafuko, like most young gorillas, is not aggressive at all: she just wants to play. She is also curious and sociable; she interacts with the other members of her family. For example if she sees something unusual, like a snake, she will find Kabirizi and show him.

Mafuko’s mother Lesenjina has been missing since June 2007 (when Nsekuye was killed).
